First Communion Class
This class welcomes children 4th grade and older and their parents.  In this class, we learn about the ways that Jesus showed his love, the Lord’s Supper and Jesus’ death and resurrection, the baptismal promises that parents make and what will happen when I take my first communion. This class prepares 4th graders to receive their first communion on Maundy Thursday.  We also hold a Seder dinner for 1st communion kids and their families prior to the Maundy Thursday Worship Service.

Nursery
We welcome all children ages birth through age 2 years old whom need childcare during the 10 a.m. worship service time. Our nursery is adult-staffed year round.

Preschool Sunday School: Ages 3 and 4 years old
These children are invited to Sunday school for the entirety of our Worship service.   By using a station approach, our Sunday school staff uses a bible-based curriculum to teach the children of God’s love for them. The children visit 4 stations every Sunday to learn the stories. These include "We Sing" (music), "We Hear" (story), "We Play" (games) and "We Make" (art).
Sunday School: Grades 5K through 5th – Rotation Model
Our 5K through 5th graders are invited to participate in the first part of our worship service and then continue to Sunday School following the passing of the peace.  Our Sunday School follows a rotational approach.  We spend 5 weeks learning a lesson, one Sunday in each of the following rotations: "Noah’s Art" (art), "Manna-facturing" (cooking foods of the lesson), "Cinema on the Mount" (movie/video), "Temple Tales" (Bible story/games) and "Bible Bang Theory" (Science).

We are now accepting registrations. You may get registration forms: download online (click) or contact the church office (414-541-9500).  Any questions may be directed to Sue Ahlf (414) 541-9500 or sue@mounthopelutheranchurch.org
