Social Service Projects
1.   We are collecting old eye glasses and cases, hearing aids, healthcare equipment e.g. walkers etc.  to be donated to needy people within the city.
(Note:  The Ageless Adult Center collected used eye glasses and donated them to the Veterans Dept.   We received a nice thank you letter from them and will continue to collect used eyeglasses for them.  There is a basket outside the church office for these donations.)
2. Food for Families and the Food PantryWatch for holiday times when these items will be collected.   Suggested items that are always needed are: canned goods of all kinds, toothpaste, tooth brushes, deodorants, soaps, diapers, baby food, etc.  Nothing that needs to be refrigerated, please.
3 Teddy Bear Ministry  We need new teddy bears to be given out at Mount Hope to those who might be in the hospital or in a nursing facility and need a big “BEAR HUG!”   The dollar stores have some cute bears at a very reasonable price.

4CHICKS are Coming in March - This spring the Ageless Fellowship Cente will be joining congregations frm across the nation by hosting a "Buck-a-Chick" sale.  For $1.00 you can purchase and decorate a paper chick for yourself, or in honor of a friend or family member.  We will have a display in the Fireside Room of the chicks that we collect.  Help us fill our nest!  Ten dollars is all it takes to provide a family living in poverty with a little chick.  Soon enough the chick begins producing eggs.  Its eggs make nutritious, protein rich meals and can be sold at the marketplace for income.  This can help a family in poverty escape hunger for good.  All donations are funneled through ELCA Good Gifts. (click the link to see the entire program of the ELCA Good Gifts.

We usually get a chance to work on one of their projects, sing a few songs, play a game, or just sit back and listen. Thank you Franklin School for sharing.
